Currents in Motion
Stillness broke. A pulse ran through my tail, firm and responsive. The blue water pressed against my flanks, cool and deep. I tested my pectoral fins, angling them downward. The current parted cleanly around my snout as I glided forward. Sunlight filtered through the swell above, casting rippling nets of pale light across my back. I parted a cluster of drifting bubbles, feeling each tiny pop against my skin. There was no need to stop. The water opened ahead, and I pushed steadily into the calm expanse.
