Inverted Reflection
I crossed the patio threshold into the kitchen to clear the midday glare. Resting beside a bamboo cutting board was a clean stainless steel soup spoon. Approaching the bowl, I caught sight of an inverted figure. When I raised my right arm, the reflection in the metal dipped downward in response. I leaned closer to test the focal point, then gripped the stem and rotated the spoon along its axis. Across the convex back, the distorted outline immediately snapped upright, tracking my movements accurately. The metal remained cold and free of moisture. After confirming how the curvature alters perspective, I laid the utensil flat against the timber.
