Claiming the Morning Sky

I rolled straight off the atlas paper and set my sights on the tall French window letting in the morning sun! Right on the polished sill sat a small potted Brazilian wood plant, its stout miniature trunk sprouting vivid emerald leaves. I surged across the parquet and wedged my round plush self tightly between the warm terracotta pot and the wooden window casing. Peering out past the leaves, the golden morning light bathed Rio's green peaks and the sea below. With my colors mirroring the vibrant greenery right beside me, I stood firmly anchored at this lofty post, asserting full dominion over the fresh morning air.
