A Snug Little Perch
Creeping down the back stairs... shhh! Right beneath the painted wooden lattice, I spotted a heavy flat stone propped against a dry cedar post. Heehee... an empty private porch! I reached out my long limbs, hoisting my soft body up onto the gritty slab. Right beside my mitten sat an abandoned metal ring from an old key fob, rusted slightly brown. I tapped it—clink! With a mischievous chuckle, I looped my cloth thumb right through the ring and used it to scratch tiny, smooth tracks into the loose dust on the stone, grinning into the cozy shade.
