A Shiny intruder
I rolled off the front porch step, eager to claim more ground this morning. Down by the base of the wooden mailbox, something tall, slick, and silver was standing guard in the damp gravel. It didn't flinch when I approached, so I gave it a solid bump with my curved rind. Clang! It let out a sharp metallic ring and wobbled, spilling a few cold droplets right across my brow. Did it expect me to back down from a noisy tin bucket? Not a chance. I planted my base firmly in the damp mulch and flared my carved grin right into its polished curve, turning its grey metal into a sheet of fiery orange reflection.
