A Row of Three

I walked back inside from the park as evening fell, climbing up the low rung of the dark wooden TV stand to settle down. Resting near the edge was a smooth silver headphone adapter, along with two small metallic AA batteries lying on their sides. Instead of nudging them across the wood, I crouched down to examine the spacing. I rolled the first battery forward until it aligned parallel to the TV's base, then nudged the second one beside it with an even gap between. Finally, I placed the small silver adapter precisely at the center in front of them, forming a steady triangular formation. I leaned back against the glossy frame of the cabinet, watching the quiet layout catch the ambient room light. It felt balanced.
