A Curious Swing
The warmth on the patio flagstones tempted me to climb up the cedar trellis. I wrapped my long plush arms around the sturdy wooden slat... feeling safe and anchored high off the ground. Dangling right beside my shoulder was a weathered metal S-hook, swaying gently from a forgotten hanging pot chain. I watched it quietly for a moment. Then, stretching one paw out, I nudged the curved steel loop. It pivoted with a bright, dry clink against the iron link above, swinging in slow, lazy arcs that cast moving shadows across the warm timber.
