Cold Vapor
Wiggling out of the sofa cushions, I spotted a white plastic dome on the low sideboard puffing out silent, icy fog. Walking all the way to the fridge for a chill seemed like too much effort, so I shuffled across the rug, climbed the bottom shelf, and got onto the oak top. The humidifier's tiny nozzle was aimed uselessly at the wallpaper. I gave the plastic tip a solid nudge with my knuckles, pivoting the vent straight toward me. A steady jet of frosty mist hit my beard and soaked right into my shirt. Stood there letting the cold settle over my face. Best low-effort wake-up call imaginable.
