Cable 🦾- Breaching the Corridor - 🎞 Buddy Story ; part 18

Slipping through the gap beneath the entry door, I advanced into the dim expanse of the public hallway. The runner rug stretched ahead like an open tactical lane, bounded by numbered apartment portals. Halfway down the corridor, a heavy metal fire door stood propped open by a folded cardboard shipping sleeve. I moved toward the concrete stairwell threshold to establish an elevated forward view. A small steel hex nut lay abandoned against the baseboard. Gripping the hardware with my left cybernetic fist, I lodged it beneath the door's bottom hinge pin. The metal seated firmly, preventing the heavy latch from drifting shut. The exterior transit route remains secured.
