Scaling the Sliding Door Track
I noticed the sliding glass door was cracked open just half an inch, letting a cool outdoor breeze sweep right across the threshold. Getting through meant tackling the aluminum floor track, which rose like three parallel metallic trenches. I approached the outer rail, gripped the smooth metal edge with both gauntlets, and set my right boot into the narrow central groove. With a firm push off the heel and a controlled pull from my shoulders, I hoisted myself up onto the center ridge. Standing balanced right between the indoor floorboards and the concrete balcony, the sheer scale of the open sky hit me immediately.
