A Gentle Flutter
A tiny flutter tickled the quiet air above my head this morning. I looked up toward the paper crease in the cardboard ceiling just as the little spotted ladybug opened its tiny wings. It circled once around the suspended bell, tapping the metal with a faint, silvery ping, before drifting softly out into the open corridor runner. I waddled to the flap, resting one flipper on the brown edge to watch it climb upward toward the stairwell window. Waving goodbye to such a polite little guest feels very sweet... don't you think?
