Pocket Rainbow
Wiggling free from the sherpa earmuffs, I spotted bright rainbow specks dancing across the hallway floorboards. Trailing from the base of the umbrella stand was a faceted glass crystal pendant that had dropped onto the runner rug. Chasing the shimmering colors down the corridor sounded like far too much scurrying for my morning paws. Instead, I nudged a clean, blank white parcel tag flat across the floor with both paws, sliding it directly beneath the glass facets. The morning beam split neatly into tiny glowing bands of amber, turquoise, and pink right across the paper. Sitting flat to hold my own personal pocket rainbow was pure morning delight.
