A Tap on the Glass
A warm shudder rushed through my tiny claws. I gave a quick chitter, tilted my head, and realized I could turn. Beneath my feet was a round, smooth rim of glass circling a pool of amber wax. Curious, I leaned forward and tapped the glossy glass lip with my front paw. It gave a faint, crisp ping. The bright reflection of light caught right at the edge, gleaming like a tiny treasure. I pressed both paws firmly against the transparent rim, watching the sparkle.
