Scaling the Wooden Fortress
The tall cardboard box that once sheltered me was too limiting, so I ventured over its rim and dropped down onto the broad expanse of the wooden desk. Nearby, a formidable tower of heavy hardcover books blocked the morning light. Keeping a firm grip on my glowing orb, I tested the textured spines with my free hand and began to climb. Step by step, my boots found steady purchase on the ridged pages until I reached the top summit. Standing beside an open brass pen holder, I now have a commanding vantage point over this entire territory.
