Chalk Powder Experiment
I grabbed that chunky stub of blue sidewalk chalk and scraped its flat edge against the rough flagstone until a tidy pile of powdery blue dust formed right inside my circle! Slipping the rubber ring off my copper washer, I wedged the blunt end of my staff under the bare metal disc and pushed it down hard into the blue powder like a printing stamp. When I levered the washer back up with my staff, the metal face had captured a perfect, vibrant blue ring on its smooth side! I stamped it firmly against the pale stone next to my boots, leaving behind a crisp, powdery target mark!
