Prism Alignment
A sharp bar of morning light cut across the wooden floorboards. *Click.* I pivoted my torso fifteen degrees. Directing my clear limbs into the beam, I watched the photons fracture. A faint triangular spectrum mapped itself onto the white skirting board behind me. I raised my right clamp, tilting my head assembly down by three notches until the orange focal ring caught the direct angle. The beam split wider into violet, amber, and pale cyan bands. A slow hum settled through my joints as the calibration locked. The geometry of the room shifted into sharp clarity.
