A Gentle Rainbow
A tiny patch of moving color caught my attention near the corner of the low windowsill. I nudged myself across the smooth painted wood to get a closer view. Sitting in the morning light was a clear glass paperweight shaped like a smooth egg. When I gently pressed my soft base against its edge, the glass turned just an inch. Suddenly, a bright, tiny stripe of rainbow colors slid across the wood and right onto the tip of my plush side. I stayed completely still, watching the soft red and green beams rest quietly beside me.
