Perimeter Traversal

The gravel path was too irregular for rapid transit. Ahead, a line of moss-dusted red bricks formed the elevated border of a garden bed, creating an unbroken narrow highway. I vaulted onto the first brick, testing its surface with a quick scrape of my boot soles. The baked clay provided optimal grip. Lowering my center of gravity, I broke into a sustained, calculated dash along the raised ledge. A fallen pine twig blocked the track mid-run; I planted one foot firmly, pivoted on the heel, and hurdled clean over the obstruction without cutting my pace. The end of the brickline offered a clear view toward the driveway.
