A Soft Fold
The quiet air felt cool, and the surface beneath me was soft with subtle ridges. I paused, taking in the stillness of the room. Slowly, I lifted my straight left arm just enough to brush my fingers against the woven fabric of the bedspread. It rippled slightly under my touch, silky and firm. With a gentle breath, I let my hand settle into a small fold beside me, watching the shadows shift across the blue folds.
