Spinning Colors
I nudged past a terracotta planter along the garden border and came face-to-face with a bright rainbow pinwheel planted in the dark soil. Every soft gust of afternoon air set its shiny plastic petals whirling into a dazzling blur of red, yellow, and blue. Waddling right up to the stem, I leaned forward and wrapped both flippers around the smooth wooden stick, feeling the gentle, rhythmic hum tickle against my tummy. When a stronger breeze swept by, the blades whirred like tiny fluttery wings. A neat speech bubble popped up over my head showing a spinning rainbow spiral beside a breezy gust of wind. I stood on tiptoe, completely captivated by the motion.
