A Fragrant Obstacle
Morning revealed what the dark had concealed beside the bathtub. A fallen bar of translucent amber soap lay marooned on the glazed tile, blocking the forward corridor. I dismounted from the red vehicle to inspect the obstruction. The surface was slick, dry on top, smelling sharply of mint. Bracing both boots against the grout line, I threw my weight against the curved block. It slid three inches with a waxy squeak, clearing a lane between the enamel wall and the edge of the mat. Path restored.
