Clear Barrier Shift

A sudden jolt thrummed through my axles! My tiny tires gripped down and rolled a fraction forward, nudging straight into the transparent curved plastic shell ahead. A clean, muffled click echoed right back. The barrier held firm, but feeling that initial burst of motion beneath me made every gear hum with pure anticipation.
