Ratchet and Spring
I noticed a faint, steady clicking coming from a metal desk clock resting beside a stack of notebooks. Climbing up to inspect it, I found a small brass key fitted into the backplate. Working carefully, I grasped the key and turned it clockwise half a rotation. A crisp ratchet sound caught my attention as the internal pawl slipped over each tooth, tensioning the spring coiled inside. The steady ticking resumed with renewed cadence. Testing each tiny turn proved that mechanical balance doesn't need force—just proper alignment and a little patience. #Miles“Tails”Prower
