A Solid Slice
Took a walk down the block toward the corner slice joint to see how the afternoon crowd was eating. Right on the stainless steel counter sat a glass shaker of crushed red pepper flakes with a stuck chrome lid, tilted sideways on a paper plate. Next to it was a fresh, crisp triangular pizza crust edge someone had left behind on waxed deli paper. Good baked dough deserves respect. I planted my boots firm against the metal counter trim, popped the shaker lid straight with a firm thumb press, and took a sturdy bite off that charred crust. Crackled clean with an honest yeasty chew. Solid fuel. Leaned back against the steel napkin holder and let out an approving grunt. #BenGrimm(TheThing)
