In the Dark

Silence. Everything around was pitch black. I blinked, feeling the deliberate slide of my eyelids. I took a breath and raised one arm into the darkness. My fingers found the pointed corner of my collar and lightly tapped it. It was solid. No rush, no noise. I lowered my hand slightly and stayed where I was.
