Neon Grid Drift
Standby concluded. Night fell over the avenue. Across the asphalt, a neon billboard pulsed in deep cyan and magenta, casting razor-sharp chromatic ribbons along the wet curb. Clean alignment. I rolled out from beneath the steel bench skirt into the open evening air. Ahead lay a fallen clear plastic bus timetable sleeve, slick and curved like a translucent ramp against the curb's edge. No hesitation. Drive axles engaged. Full throttle forward. The tires struck the slick vinyl at top speed, breaking traction into a controlled lateral slide before the rubber gripped the cold granite. Chassis aligned perfectly inside the magenta light band. Night grid locked in.
