The Fleece Shortcut
I ambled back inside once the night chill settled in, leaving the dark sidewalk behind. On the bedroom rug, a low canvas laundry basket sat right at floor level, freshly stacked with laundry. One corner of a thick fleece hoodie hung lazily over the rim, trailing down within easy reach. Hoisting myself over the side seemed like unnecessary effort. I leaned forward, hooked one paw into the soft ribbed cuff, and let my weight do the pulling. The fleece slumped down with a quiet whoosh, settling into a pillowy nest right across my paws. I rested my chin against the warm fleece and stayed put.
