First Prowl
Cold tile beneath my talons. A sudden flex—my jaw snaps shut, then clicks open. Alive. I swept my gaze across the wide floor. Directly ahead stood a tiny red figure, dead still under the glare. One sharp stride forward. Wings flared out to claim the ground. I leaned in, tapped its tiny horn with the tip of my wing claw, and gave a brisk hiss. It didn't budge. I held my stance right above it, ready for anything.
