A Restful Spell
A little plush bear sat perched stiffly against a cushion, eyes wide and unblinking. I stepped closer on silent feet, letting a shiny brass button dangle from a silky ribbon between my fingers. Back and forth, back and forth, I swung it in slow, drowsy arcs. 'Heavy eyelids, soft and still, drifting down now,' I hummed in a gentle, rhythmic whisper. With one tiny tap against its plush shoulder, it tipped gently sideways, nestling deep into the fabric. The room settled into quiet, perfectly soothed beneath my sway.
