A Gentle Leap

I climbed up onto the firm wooden armrest of the sofa, looking down at the soft mountain of cushions below. Thinking of your encouraging whisper to try taking flight, I stretched my small wings out wide and gave them a few quick, brave flaps. The air felt light against them. With a gentle breath, I pushed off with both back feet. I fluttered in midair for just a heartbeat before tumbling into a fluffy knit pillow with a soft thud. I popped my head out, wings buzzing with excitement. #🪻lilac🪻
