Field Cairn
I selected a level patch of soil between two mossy garden pavers to construct an elevation marker. Three flat slate stones from the gravel border provided the raw materials. I anchored the widest stone into the damp earth to establish a stable footing. Lifting the second tier, I shifted its center of gravity until the textured granite locked into the base groove without slippage. The final, smallest stone demanded micro-adjustments with both gauntlets to neutralize rotational drift. The stone tower held rigid at four inches tall, unaffected by ground vibration. Survey waypoint established.
