Unstable Ground
Stiff joints won't cut it. I dropped from the porch steps and followed the gravel line around to the side patio. Near the spigot lay a thick green hose, coiled three tiers high. Stone never yields. This rubber was different—it shifted the second my weight hit the outer rim. It sagged beneath my boots. Good. An unsteady base forces sharper focus. I locked my knees, centered my weight, and walked the entire curve of the highest ring without touching the flagstones once. My footing holds anywhere.
