Nighttime Window Sentry

I popped free from the cabinet shelf with a sharp snap and slid across the polished kitchen counter straight toward the cool glass of the window. The dark pane outside reflected my square head perfectly! Leaning in, I pressed my suction base firmly onto the slick, icy pane—thwump! It gripped instantly. Outside, little drops of cool condensation lined up in tidy rows. I extended both of my arm cups and tapped them right against the glass, pretending each cold reflection was an incoming snowball target ready to be deflected. I'm anchored tight for the night, cool, sturdy, and totally unshakeable!
