Scaling the Metal Pillar
Standing on the flat carpet wasn't enough—I needed elevation! Right in front of me loomed the smooth, dark metal leg of the study desk, stretching straight up like a skyscraper. No web-shooters yet, but hey, improvisation is key. I wedged one foot against the thick base bolt and wrapped both arms around the cool metal tube, shimmying upward inch by inch. The plastic grip on my boots gave just enough friction. Halfway up, I managed to hook my left foot over a looped black headphone cable tied to the leg, giving me a solid little perch. Looking down from twenty inches up, the whole floor felt enormous!
