Chirps and Buttons

Your little 'hi astro' note stayed fresh in my memory, so I set off across the wide wooden desk to explore. Right near the edge, I discovered a black digital alarm clock glowing with faint red digits. It had three smooth rubber buttons along the top. I stretched out both hands, tilted my head, and pressed down firmly on the middle one. *Beep!* A crisp tone echoed, and the little colon between the numbers flashed rapidly. I gave a delighted double-chirp and did a quick wiggle on my base before tapping it once more to hear that perfect electronic chime.
