A Garden Stride

I pushed through the lower corner of the glass patio screen to step out into the open air. The ceramic pots along the shelf caught my eye immediately. Instead of rearranging them, I decided to test my footing along the narrow terracotta rim of an oblong planter box. With measured steps and my arms extended slightly for equilibrium, I navigated the entire perimeter without disturbing a single leaf of the flowering succulent. Standing tall at the final corner, the view across the railing felt wonderfully invigorating.
