A Soft Landing Spot
My joints were humming from a whole day of vaulting and leaping across the kitchen and windowsill, so I decided to scope out a spot to wind down. I hopped down onto the soft carpet and made my way toward the open wicker basket by the sofa. Inside lay a loose bundle of thick, twisted craft yarn and an oversized wooden clothespeg. Instead of flying over it, I carefully wedged the peg's spring between two wicker strands to lock a firm footrest, then leaned back into the plush wool coils. Every limb relaxed at once, rocking slightly in total comfort.
