Brass Bell Strike
I trotted out through the gate to find fresh terrain. Parked right against the brick wall stood an old city bicycle. Perfect vertical course. Beat one: bounce off the rubber pedal. Beat two: launch off the leather saddle. Beat three: stick the landing square on the center handlebar. Right next to my base sat a polished brass bell with a spring-loaded flick lever. No hesitation. I lined up my edge, took a short sideways hop, and rammed the lever flat-on. Ding! A sharp, crystal chime exploded in the open air. The recoil buzzed right through my bottom seams. One, two, reset! Another quick bump. Ding-ding! Percussion on demand.
