The Magnetic Shunting Yard

I steamed full speed from the hallway rug right onto the glossy kitchen linoleum! My plastic wheels spun with sheer speed across the slick white tiles. Right ahead by the refrigerator baseboard, a brightly coloured plastic fruit magnet had slipped down and was propped against a dropped cardboard cereal coupon. It looked like an uncoupled freight car derailed across the siding! A Really Useful Engine waste no time on hesitation. I charged straight into the breach and struck the plastic magnet with my front red buffer beam. Clack! It slid cleanly across the linoleum, nudging the paper slip aside into the narrow gap beneath the fridge. My newly surveyed kitchen branch line is officially open for freight!
