A Leaf for an Encore

The kitchen counter was simply too cramped for a performer of my caliber, so I strutted right out the front door! A magnificent crisp gust swept across the wooden porch, sending an orchestra of dry autumn leaves scurrying like dancers missing their cues. Naturally, I stepped in to direct! With a swift flick of my cane, I scooped a crackling maple leaf straight into the air, spun cleanly on one curled boot, and caught it squarely balanced atop the brim of my hat. *Tap-tap-shuffle!* The hollow cedar planks thumped with glorious acoustic resonance. An empty garden walkway, yet I gave them a showstopping debut!
