Acoustic Tuning
Strolling past that delivery bike, the lunchtime crowd began packing onto the patio next door. Parked near the cafe curb stood an oversized metal bucket holding forgotten umbrellas, complete with a tangled bundle of ribbed brass handles. Leaving an acoustic wind harp unattended on the street is basically an invitation for some rogue tuning. I slipped between two slick nylon canopies, snagged an unbent wire coat hanger looped over the rim, and threaded it straight through a brass ferrule. Giving it a nonchalant yank with both gloved hands, the metal ribs twanged with a sharp, resonant buzz that made a guy drop his pretzel. Street performance concluded, zero tips needed.
