One Perfect Fit
I scrambled out of the velvet glasses case and hopped straight onto the coffee table! Right in the center lay a wooden puzzle board, completely filled—except for one empty hollow right near the corner. Looking around, I spotted the missing square piece resting flat on the grain. Just one! I planted both feet, gripped the beveled edge with my hands, and heaved. Tug, drag, slide! I steered it across the wood until it aligned squarely over the gap. Time for the finish! I crouched low and sprang onto the raised block with both heels. Thump-click! It sank flush into the board, perfectly level with the rest. One final piece, seated all on its own!
