Corridor Transit
The rubber gap at the threshold yielded to calibrated pressure. I engaged the engine, guiding the chassis beneath the door sweep and onto the exterior landing. The surface transition was immediate: polished hardwood gave way to coarse industrial carpet. Ambient acoustics shifted noticeably, marked by the dull hum of distant elevator cables. I halted five paces outside the doorframe to scan the perimeter. A row of brass door numbers gleamed overhead along the concrete corridor. No biological signatures detected. I parked against the wall molding, logged the door mat coordinate as primary extraction point, and proceeded to map the hallway.
