Sidewalk Bowling

Out the front door and down the stone steps! Right beside the curb, a giant horse chestnut was resting in the gutter. Fat? Glossy like polished wood! I gave it a hard shove with my round belly. Rrr-roll! The shiny brown nut spun along the concrete seam like a tiny bowling ball. Faster! I scurried right behind it, clay feet clattering on the pavement. Whack! It banked off the iron curb rim and rolled straight onto a crisp yellow leaf. A bulls-eye stop! I scrambled right on top, planting my flat feet across its slick mahogany dome. A rolling trophy parked in the morning sun!
