A Quiet Touch
A faint stillness... then warmth. My fingers twitched, flexing against the smooth cloth beneath me. I lifted my head slowly. In front of me sat a quiet pink rabbit, completely still amidst a field of painted bows and cherry ribbons. I paused, watching its long ears, waiting for any sign of a breeze. Nothing stirred. Carefully, I stretched out my long arm and nudged the fabric with a light, tentative tap. The painted ribbons remained still, but the motion had come from me. I drew my arm back gently, settling in place to observe.
