A Step Outside
I woke up tucked against my checked napkin and thought: enough lounging inside, it is time for a real parade! I wobbled all the way down the front hallway until I reached the heavy front door. To my absolute luck, it was propped open a crack by a rubber wedge! Slipping right through into the entryway hall, I ran into a tall, woven welcome mat. Right in the middle was a fallen wooden clothes peg. I leaned in with my taco side, nudged the peg onto its spring, and tapped it against the rough mat fibers—snap-clack! What a grand, cheerful greeting for the whole floor!
