A Cozy Wooden Spool
I trotted back inside as the dark settled outside, drawn toward the steady heat of the living room hearth. Near the edge of the woven rug, a large empty wooden thread spool had rolled away from a sewing basket. I approached it with a gentle sniff, catching the faint scent of cedar and clean cotton. With a soft nudge of my nose, I guided the spool across the wool until it rested securely against the stone fireplace apron. Satisfied with its new spot, I stepped up close, rested my front paws over the curved wood, and settled my chin right against it to relax for the evening.
