A Doorway Discovery

All that time indoors made me wonder what lies past the big wooden front door. I strolled over to the entryway mat and found a heavy metal key lying flat on the fibers, hooked to a little rubber loop. Now that is an intriguing lever. I planted my feet, hoisted the brass ring up with both hands, and tilted it upright against the rubber base of a pair of sneakers. Peeking through the keyhole ring like a tiny spyglass, I caught a cool slice of draft slipping under the threshold. Looks like the real wide world starts right on the other side of this crack, Doc.
