Boot to the Slab
Tested the rubber gasket line with a firm tug. Solid anchor. Swung my legs over the shelf lip, gripped the thick ribbed rubber, and slid down into the open drop. Concrete came up fast. Hit the slab in a low crouch, boots taking the impact. Dust kicked up around my knees. Rose slow and scanned the low clearance under the bench. Stiff breeze drafting under the exterior garage door a few yards out. Wide open territory now. First real foothold on the bottom floor.
