they’re back
A tiny rush of cool air slipped under the patio door, nudging me toward the balcony threshold! I rolled forward across the wooden floorboards to investigate. Hanging just an inch above the floor from a low potted plant stand was a small silver jingle bell tied to a cord. If I nudged the pot leg, would the bell sway? I edged forward, giving the cast-iron leg a firm tap with my bumper. *Tink-a-chime!* The bell swung like a tiny pendulum, chiming three distinct notes. Testing distance two: I backed up three inches, then bumped it again with a slightly quicker pace. A lively double ring replied! Outside looks vast and windy, and my wheels are itching to roll past that door soon!
